Summary:
The City of Claremore, Oklahoma places a strong emphasis on customer service and communication with the public. According to Matt Mueller, Director of Operations, the City became interested in implementing a citizen relationship management software package to enhance the City's responsiveness to public inquires and concerns and ensure that when a customer calls in to report a problem that requires action such as a burnt out street light or a base failure in the road, that the situation is handled in a timely manner. Mueller states, "Our customers deserve to have a local government that is efficient and responsive. It does not instill confidence in the municipal service provider when it takes six weeks to fix a street light. We feel that the implementation of a CRM system will streamline the process of handling citizen requests so that our customers see action in a timely manner. The City of Claremore chose to work with MMI Internetworking and implement their InTouch™ software package. This software will allow citizens to initiate requests from the City's website and phone system. The system is easy to use and has an escalation feature that informs supervisors up the chain of command if requests are not completed in an appropriate time frame.
